The Powerline Baseball League’s Blue Jays will have a new nest this coming season ...
In a move that became official at Tuesday’s league meeting, the Holden Blue Jays are now the Vegreville Blue Jays after a motion to relocate was approved unanimously by fellow P.B.L. teams.
Jays Player/Manager Steve Hrabec says the team is excited to call Vegreville’s Riverview Ball Diamonds their new home.
He says it’s a move that just made sense for the team.
Hrabec says even with that, it wasn’t an easy decision to leave Holden.
This off-season has seen plenty of change for Hrabec who not helped spearhead the move from Holden to Vegreville for the Blue Jays but also assumed the role of P.B.L. President.
He says in the midst of the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, the Senior Men’s League will be following Baseball Alberta’s lead when it comes to when the P.B.L. will actually be able to open their season.
Hrabec, who had previously served as the P.B.L.’s Vice-President for four years, says aside from dealing with the schedule uncertainty, as President he hopes to help ensure the league and its seven teams remain competitive and healthy moving forward.
