Province Confirms Additional 'Active' COVID-19 Case in County of Minburn Region

Alberta is reporting 304 new cases of COVID-19 over the past three days, including an additional ‘active’ case in the County of Minburn region ...

Alberta's Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw says there are now 1,430 active cases of the virus in the province.

She says 110 new cases were reported Friday, 103 on Saturday and 91 Sunday.

The province also added eight more fatalities, bringing the death toll in Alberta to 186.

Hinshaw says of those eight deaths, five were at the Good Samaritan Southgate Care Centre, a long-term care home in Edmonton.

She notes in all, 12 residents there have died and another 47 others are infected along with 14 staff members.

Closer to home, the County of Minburn region, including Vegreville is now reporting three ‘active’ cases of COVID-19 while the County of Two Hills region is reporting six ‘active’ cases.

Elsewhere, the Lamont County region is now reporting zero ‘active’ cases with now seven recoveries, Beaver County is now reporting nine ‘active’ cases, the County of Vermilion River is reporting one ‘active’ case and the County of St. Paul continues to report zero ‘active’ cases.

Meantime, Strathcona County, excluding Sherwood Park is reporting three ‘active’ cases while Sherwood Park is reporting six ‘active’ cases.

To date, of the 10,390 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Alberta, 8,774 have been deemed recovered.
