This is the sixth week of Alberta’s transition to weekly COVID-19 reporting.
The numbers shared on Wednesday (April 27th) cover the time period from April 19th to the 25th.
6,569 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the province during the past week based on a total of 26,156 tests.
According to the geospatial data on the alberta.ca website, no new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Two Hills County during the past 7 days, there have been 6 in Lamont County and 7 in the Vegreville/Minburn County area.
There are currently 1,126 individuals in hospital in the province due to COVID-19, which is up by 94 from last week’s total. 47 of those patients are in intensive care units – that is up by 4 from last week.
62 new deaths related to the virus have occurred during the past week. Alberta’s total number of deaths due to COVID-19 during the pandemic is 4,190.
