A new Grand Slam of Curling season is officially underway and Vegreville’s Val is faring very well ...
Team Sweeting leads the Women’s Standings at 4 and ‘oh’ at the first Gram Slam event of the year, the Tour Challenge in Regina, after a pair of nail-biter, extra-end victories on Thursday.
Earlier this morning Sweeting stole a 5-4 extra-end victory from Jacqueline Harrison of Mississauga, Ontario before making a clutch draw in an extra-end afternoon match-up to edge Scotland’s Eve Muirhead 4-3.
With today’s wins Team Sweeting punches her ticket to the Quarter Finals of the event which will start on Saturday.
Sweeting will get the day off Friday at the event which got underway on Tuesday in the Saskatchewan Capital City.
Once again this year, Sweeting is flanked by Third Lori Olson-Johns, Second Dana Ferguson and Lead Rachel Brown.
