Vegreville's Atom Crews Ready for 'Round 2' of Provincial Action

The Vegreville Atom One Wranglers have punched their tickets to Round Two of the Hockey Alberta Provincial Playdowns.

The Wranglers played to a 5-5 tie with the Lac La Biche Clippers on Wednesday on the Wally Fedun Arena, winning the 2-Game, Total Goal Series by a combined score of 9-6. 

Brady Weleschuk scored a pair of goals in the series clinching tie while Torrin Lockhart, Kovey Dumanski and Raeden Weinkauf added the singles. 

The Atom Ones will next face Marwayne in Round Two. 

Meantime, the Vegreville Atom Two Wranglers are also off to Round Two of Hockey Alberta’s Provincial Playdowns after they beat, coincidentally, Lac La Biche in their First Round action. 

The Atom Twos won their 2-Game, Total Goal Series by a combined score of 17-6 thanks to impressive 10-2 Game Two victory on the road on Wednesday. 

Easton Tkachuck paced the offense for Vegreville with 3 goals while Kaden Luliuk added 2 goals and an assist. 

They’ll face Bonnyville in Round Two.
