Val & Co. in Must Win Territory at Canadian Open

A late match come back effort fell just short for Vegreville’s Val at the Canadian Open in Camrose on Wednesday ...

Team Sweeting rallied from down 5-1 after the fourth but surrendered one in the eight, dropping a 6-5 decision to Switzerland’s Team Tirinzoni on day two of the fourth stop of the Grand Slam of Curling season.

Val and company now have their backs against the wall and are forced to win three in a row in order to qualify for this weekend’s playoffs.

Sweeting will once again play the late draw on Thursday (8pm) but her opponent had not been determined at time of posting.
