Sweeting & Gushue Crack the 'Great Eight' Playoffs at Mixed

Sweeting and Gushue went 2-and-1 in yesterday’s action to wrap up the round robin and certainly have momentum heading into the ‘Round of 8’, having won five of their last six matches.

Sweeting says after an oh-and-two start at the event, making the playoffs feels pretty good.

Sweeting and Gushue will play a familiar foe in St. John’s Geoff Walker and Edmonton’s Laura Crocker in the first round of ‘Double Knock Out’ later this afternoon – the 8-and-0 Crocker/Walker Rink beat Sweeting and Gushue yesterday 9-8, despite trailing by six after two ends.

Playoffs continue through the weekend while the champion rink will be crowned on Sunday afternoon and will then get ready to represent Canada at the Olympics in South Korea next month.
