The dust is now just starting to settle after the A.P.C.C.A’s stop in Edgerton over the weekend ...
Rosalind’s Wanda Sannachan picked up a big win in the Chariots, finishing with a Top 2-Day Average Time of 116.30, a blink of an eye quicker than Vegreville’s Dwayne Dubuc who finished second.
Sannachan says picking up wins this season is especially meaningful as she’ll be hanging up the reigns after this year.
Shannachan does add however that she won't be going anywhere until after, at the earliest, a major A.P.C.C.A. stop later this month.
Meantime, after spending some time with a different association, Cold Lake's Kevin Desjarlais is back with the A.P.C.C.A. and it didn’t take him long to pick up his first Wagons win.
In his first event back, Desjarlais finished in top spot thanks to a Top 2-Day Average Time of 118.99, edging out Neil Salmond of Weekes, Saskatchewan by fractions of a second.
Desjarlais says it was anybody’s race.
Up next for the Alberta Professional Chuckwagon and Chariot Association is the 'Buck Lake Stampede' Saturday, July 14th and Sunday, July 15th.
