A lack of cooperation from Mother Nature turned the Alberta Professional Chuckwagon and Chariot Association’s 5-Day stop in Rocky Mountain House into a 3-Day show ...

Neil Salmond of Weekes, Saskatchewan put the best times together in the Wagons – which, due to inclement weather, didn’t run on both Friday night and Sunday afternoon.

Salmond finished tops in the aggregate with a 236.09.

Lacombe’s John Stott finished second with a 238.56 while Buck Creek’s Chance Thomson rounded out the top three with a 238.59.

Vegreville’s Dwayne Dubuc earned a Top Ten Wagon’s finish at the event, registering a 241.43 – good for 9th.

In the Chariots, Kelsey, Alberta’s Chester Blatz used a first place race on Saturday to leap frog Cold Lake’s Kevin Dejarlais and win the show.

Blatz registered a 232.80 in the aggregate while Dejarlais finished with a 237.01, good for second place.

Mayerthorpe’s Louis Johner finished 3rd with a 238.92.

The A.P.C.C.A. gets this coming weekend off before venturing to Paradise Valley for a two-day show on June 22nd and 23rd.
