It was a rough season opening weekend for the Vegreville Rangers.

The Rangers dropped both games of a home and home series with the North Eastern Alberta Junior Hockey League defending Champion Wainwright Bisons.

The Good News for the Rangers is that new additions to the team made an immediate impact.

20 Year Old Rookie Zachary Flasha-Lupashuc scored a pair of goals in Friday’s Home Opener.  

He talks about his decision to join the Rangers at a late Junior Hockey age.

Vegreville is back in action Saturday when they head to Frog Lake to take on the T-Birds.

The St. Paul Canadiens downed the Killam Wheat Kings in both games of a home and home series by a total score of 10-3.

While the Vermilion Tigers vs. Onion Lake Border Chiefs game scheduled for Friday was postponed due to poor ice condition in Onion Lake.
