The Vegreville Rangers put together a solid weekend in the Northeastern Alberta Junior Hockey League ...
After a tough 4-3 loss to the league-leading Wainwright Bisons on Friday, the Rangers bounced back with a 5-2 win over the Vermilion Tigers at the Vegreville Rec. Centre Arena on Saturday.
The Rangers have won two of their last three contests and continue to ride the hot hand of forward Austin Halliday who's scored 7 goals in his last three outings, including a hat-trick in Saturday’s win.
Halliday credits his line-mate Jared Steinbach with his scoring success this season.
Halliday has 24 goals in 17 games this season and sits in a tie for third in the N.E.A.J.H.L.’s Goal Scoring Race and says he's managed to get rewarded for being in the right place at the right time.
The Rangers are back to work on Wednesday when they’ll travel to Saddle Lake to take on the Warriors.
