Rangers Stun Wheaties

Rangers Salute the Crowd at the Veg. Center Arena following Wednesday's win.

A 'must win mentality' paid-off for the Vegreville Rangers at the Vegreville Rec. Center Arena last night ...

A.J. Curry, Jared Steinbach, Gage Warrington and Alex Kitz all found the back of the net for the Rangers who got by the N.E.A.J.H.L.’s second-place Killam Wheat Kings 4-3 on Wednesday.

Connor McKay was dynamite in net for Vegreville, making 39 saves, and admits he thrives in games where he sees plenty of action early.

McKay says his team will need more of the same effort down the stretch.

Meantime, Rangers Head Coach Bryan Brown says McKay gave his team a chance to pick up a desperately needed win.

With the win the Rangers now trail the Vermilion Tigers and the last available playoff spot by three points with nine games remaining.

Vegreville is back to work tomorrow when they travel to Lloydminster for a battle with the Bandits.
