Rangers on the Outside Looking In for Second Consecutive Season

The Vegreville Rangers wrapped their 2017-18 Northeastern Alberta Junior Hockey League Regular Season over the weekend with a rough 6-0 loss to the Vermilion Tigers ...

The Rangers, who did not qualify for the playoffs this season, finish the year with a 9-25-and-2 record, good for 9th in the standings.

A bright spot for Vegreville this season was the play of Forwards Jared Steinbach and Austin Halliday who finish the year in 8th and 9th place respectively in the N.E.A.J.H.L. scoring race.

With the regular season done and over with, the playoff pairings have been set and will feature Top Dog Wainwright taking on Vermilion in the First Round.

Other first round series include, 2nd place Killam versus Lloydminster, 3rd place St. Paul up against Cold Lake and Frog Lake against Lac La Biche in the 4 versus 5 matchup.

The best of seven first round will get underway later this week.
