Rangers Add Grit to Roster with Veteran Curry

The early-season roster tinkering continues for the Vegreville Rangers ...

Last week the Rangers acquired the rights to 20 year-old Forward A.J. Curry in the hopes of adding more of a veteran presence and a little sandpaper to their line-up.

Curry, who’s originally from the Edson area and played with the Lloyd. Bandits last season, says he’s thrilled to join the Rangers.

He talks about what he hopes to bring to the team this season.

The Rangers, who sit 4th in the standings with a 2-1-1 record, are back to work this weekend with a pair of home games; tomorrow night Vegreville plays host the Onion Lake Border Chiefs before the Lac La Biche Clippers make their first appearance at the Veg. Rec. Centre Arena for a Sunday Matinee.

Tonight in the N.E.A.J.H.L., the Border Chiefs are in Lloyd., the 3 and 1 Vermilion Tigers visit the 2 and 1 Killam Wheat Kings and the St. Paul Canadiens look for their first win in three tries when they host Cold Lake.
