Ranger Roster Tinkering Ahead of New N.E.A.J.H.L. Season Continues

Roster tinkering ahead of a new North Eastern Alberta Junior Hockey League season continues for the Vegreville Rangers.

There’s optimism surrounding the Vegreville Rangers roster following this past weekend’s conditioning camps.

Head Coach James Couch says the coaching staff was pleasantly surprised by the number of players in attendance and the talent on display.

He says one group in particular stood out.

The Rangers’ pre-season camp continues tomorrow night with a Team Tryout. Players interested in attending are asked to visit the Vegreville Rangers website for details and contact information.

Couch says while a few player personnel decisions could be made following the tryout, he expects the bulk of those will follow an Exhibition Contest which will be played in Vegreville on Friday.

He talks that game's opposition, an unfamiliar foe for the Rangers, the Ponoka Stampeders of the Heritage Junior Hockey League.

Puck drop for Friday’s pre-season tilt is set for 8:00pm at the Vegreville Rec Center Arena.
