The Onion Lake Border Chiefs added some cushion between themselves and the Vegreville Rangers on Monday.

The Border Chiefs clipped the the Lac La Biche Clippers 8-1 in a rare Northeastern Alberta Junior Hockey League ‘Monday Nighter’ and now sit three points up on the Rangers in the league’s final playoff spot.

The N.E.A.J.H.L. is quiet tonight but the Rangers, who have three games in hand on Onion Lake, are back to work Thursday in Saddle Lake.

Thursday's game was originally scheduled for last Wednesday but had been postponed by the league.
