Mostly Rookie Rangers Fall to Killam in Pre-Season Opener

The Vegreville Rangers were given an early wake-up call in their first taste of preseason play in the N.E.A.J.H.L. last night ...

The Rangers Bench was short veterans and returning players as they fell 10-1 to an older Killam Wheat Kings line-up at the Vegreville Rec. Center Arena.

Head Coach Bryan Brown praised the large crop of Affiliate Midget Players in the line-up for their effort against an older Wheat Kings line-up.

Brown anticipates his bench will feature a more veteran-laden line up in their next preseason tilt on Friday versus the Lloydminster Bandits.

The Bandits contest on Friday will be Game One of a Home and Home Series between the two teams as the Rangers will wrap their preseason schedule in Lloyd on Saturday.

The Northeastern Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Regular Season starts on Friday, September 29th.
