Early Season Growing Pains for Rangers

The Vegreville Rangers are still looking for their first win of the season after a busy weekend in the North Eastern Alberta Junior Hockey League ...

A busy weekend for the Vegreville Rangers didn’t result in their first win of the season.

The Rangers played three games in three days from Friday to Sunday, falling in all three in contests.

One of the Rangers’ newest additions this season is 18-year old Goalie Ryan Koenig, who says the wins will come eventually for his young team.

He adds while the team is bonding off the ice, they're still trying to generate on-ice chemistry.

Koenig, who’s from Luseland, Saskatchewan, was between the pipes from most of this weekend’s action, turning aside 85 of 96 total shots sent his way.

Next up for the Rangers, who now sit with at 0-and-5 on the season, is a tilt with the Vermilion Tigers on Friday.
