Desjarlais registered a 64.79, one of the fastest Wagons’ times in recent memory turned in at the Vegreville Country Fair, to secure the ‘Night #1 Day Money’ on Thursday.

His next closest competitor was Mayerthorpe’s Louis Johner, whose 66.81 was good enough for 2nd place on Night #1, was still nearly 2-full seconds behind Desjarlais.
Saddle Lake’s Keith Wood finished 3rd with a 66.95.
Meantime, Marty Maxwell of Camrose locked down top spot on Night #1 in the Chariots with a 64.92.
Kelsey’s Chester Blatz finished 2nd with a 65.33 and Adam Waldner of Ferintosh grabbed 3rd with 65.53.
Night #2 of the Alberta Professional Chuckwagon & Chariot Association’s stop at the Vegreville Country Fair starts at 5:00 PM with the Chariots, followed by the Wagons at 7:00 PM.
