APCCA Rolls Into Vegreville

The Alberta Professional Chuckwagon and Chariot Association is getting set for three days of action at the Vegreville Country Fair.

The Alberta Professional Chuckwagon and Chariot Association rolls into town for three days of racing at the Vegreville Country Fair starting tonight.

Vegreville’s own Dwayne Dubuc will be one of 40 outfits vying for his share of a daily 5-thousand dollar purse and to be crowned the overall winner when the dust settles on Saturday.

Dubuc talks about racing on his ‘home-town’ track.

Despite having finished tops in the last 3 Chariot Events including in Vermilion last weekend, Dubuc has elected to race two Chuckwagon Outfits as opposed to a Wagon and a Cart.

He comes into Vegreville 11th in the Overall Season Standings for Wagons. Denver Leach is in top spot with 903 points.

The Chariot Races get underway at the Vegreville Ag Society at 5pm with the Wagons to follow at 7.

You’ll be able to hear live coverage of the Chuckwagons right here on Country 106 nightly from the Vegreville Country Fair, starting with the pre-show at 6:45.
