Viking Mounties made an arrest in a property theft case

Viking Mounties made an arrest in a property theft case. On the afternoon of February 2, Viking RCMP were alerted to a theft of an A.T.V. in progress. A citizen in the rural Viking area observed a suspicious vehicle in his neighbour's yard, and saw the vehicle leaving as well as another male driving an A.T.V. from the property.
 
The citizen was able to direct RCMP to the location the males were spotted, and police were able to arrest both suspects. The suspect on the A.T.V. attempted to flee briefly, but was stuck in snow.
 
Viking RCMP have charged 32 year old Jared Eide of Killam, and 33 year old Randy Schuurman of Sedgewick, with one count under the Criminal Code of theft over $5000.
 
Eide was released by a Justice of the Peace, to appear in Vegreville Provincial Court on February 12, while Schuurman was released by police to appear in Vegreville Provincial Court on March 5, 2018.
