Vegreville residents are going to pay more for their water this year.
Vegreville residents will be seeing a slight increase on their water bills this year. The cost of water is going up from $2.69 cents per cubic meter, to $2.83 cents per cubic meter.
Town Councillor and board member of the John S. Batiuk Regional Water Commission, Tim MacPhee, says that the town's increase stems directly from an increase in prices from the water's producer, Epcor, as well as the John S. Batiuk Regional Water Commission.
He notes that the average home will only see an increase of about $2 a month, and says that the increase will also include some of the cost of maintenance.
