GrainsConnect Canada is expected to break ground on a new high throughput grain terminal this summer
Construction on a new grain terminal about one mile east of Vegreville is slated to begin this summer. The company, GrainsConnect Canada, is an international joint venture between Australia's GrainCorp, and Zen-Noh Grain Corporation.
President of GrainsConnect Canada, Warren Stow, says there's just a couple steps left before they can break ground.
Stow adds they expect the $30 million grain terminal, which will be able to load 130 rail cars in under 14 hours, and is expected to create 12 to 15 full time jobs, to open in late 2018.
