Town Approves 2018 Operating Budget

At it's last council meeting, Vegreville Town Council approved the 2018 Operating Budget

The Town of Vegreville has approved it's 2018 Operating Budget.

Mayor Tim MacPhee says that taxes will be increasing by 2.97 per cent.

MacPhee adds that the local real estate market played a factor in determining the Town's operating budget of 19.2 million dollars.

1 per cent of the tax increase is due to town staff wage increases, and 1.97 per cent is for the debenture on the new RCMP building.

The Capital budget is expected to come forward sometime in February.
