The Vegreville & District Chamber of Commerce’s ‘Passport to Christmas’ is back ...
Chamber General Manager Michelle Henderson says the annual campaign, which will see three lucky shoppers rewarded for spending their dollars locally this Christmas season, kicked off on Monday.
Henderson notes that while the premise, in which shoppers collect a ‘Passport’ stamp for every $10 spent at participating businesses, remains the same, there are a few changes this year.
She says one of those changes involves the ‘top prize’, which in the past was $1000.00 in ‘Chamber Bucks’.
This year’s second prize is a ‘Vegreville Themed’ Pysanka Coin from the Royal Canadian Mint while third prize is $200 in ‘Chamber Bucks’.
Henderson notes while this year has seen some changes, the ever-favorite ‘double stamp’ day is back again this year.
Last year, 2,226 completed passports were turned into the Chamber, equating to over $667,000 spent locally.
