St. Paul RCMP are investigating a case of children being offered candy from a vehicle.
On Nov. 23, two children walking home from school between 3:00 p.m. - 3:45 p.m., were approached by a male driving a white car on Lakeshore Drive in St. Paul.
It is alleged that the male rolled down his window and asked the children if they wanted some candy and then drove away after they did not reply back. The children advised their parents and were not harmed. Police were contacted a short time later and initiated an investigation but the vehicle was not located in the area.
The male driver who spoke to the children is described as:
- Caucasian male
- Possibly 50 years or older
- No facial hair
The male passenger did not speak to the children but was described as:
- Possibly same age as driver
- Wearing a baseball cap
The vehicle was described as being a larger, white, 4-door car with dirt on it.
The RCMP are reminding parents and caregivers of the importance of educating children about safety and speaking with strangers.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the St. Paul RCMP, or Crime Stoppers.
