Snowmobilers Reminded to Stay Off Private Property

Regional producers are expressing frustration after this past weekend's premature deluge of snow

Some farmers are now not only having to contend with Mother Nature when it comes to crops still in the field, but also snowmobilers who are making a bad situation worse by trampling any crops underneath the fresh snow.

Corporal Leigh Drinkwater with the Vegreville RCMP Detachment says crops or no crops; snowmobilers and hunters alike need to ask permission prior to entering onto to someone else's land.

Drinkwater adds that if even for their own safety, snowmobilers should be asking for permission from the landowner to ensure a conversation is had about potentially deadly obstacles, like fence lines, which can be difficult to see at high speeds.
