The latest Regional Harvest Progress Report ...

The latest Alberta Crop Report is out and despite the early October showers and snow, Regional Producers have been able to make some headway when it comes Harvest Progress.

According to the Report, Harvest progressed 11 per cent to 64 per cent complete here in the Northeast Region with 19 per cent in the swath and 17 per cent still standing.

About 26 per cent of spring wheat, 31 per cent of barley, 34 per cent of oats and seven per cent of canola are still standing, with 38 per cent of canola in swath.

Even with the progress, regional producers are still behind the 5-year of 83 per cent and trailing the provincial average of 77.4 per cent.

The Good News is that the Northeast Region’s fall-seeded crops are rated 92 per cent good and eight per cent fair.
