Monday is Remembrance Day, and the nation will come to a halt at 11 a.m.
Honours and Awards Chairman at Vegreville's Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 39, Rod Stewart, says that it's important to remember the sacrifices made.
Vegreville's Remembrance Day Service will include a march from the Legion to the Cenotaph, and a service at the Social Centre.
Poppy's are still available at various locations across town. There is also a digital poppy that can be made and shared on line at www.mypoppy.ca
Elsewhere, in Mundare, the Remembrance service is at the Cenotaph followed by a light luncheon at the Drop-In Center. In Holden, the Service will commence at 11:00 A.M. at the Main Street Cenotaph with a program to follow at the Paragon Theater. In Ryley, there will be a service at the Cenotaph at noon, followed by a Community Service a the Ryley Community Hall and a potluck dinner at the Legion. And in Viking, there will be a service at the Community Hall starting at 10:30.
