The Alberta government and the RCMP are focusing on distracted driving this month.
Constable Curtis Harsullla with the Vegreville detachment says that they are starting to notice a slight reduction in the amount of distracted driving tickets handed out since the penalty for distracted driving changed at the beginning of 2016. It now includes three demerits, in addition to the $287 fine.
Harsulla notes that distracted driving can include using a GPS, putting on makeup, and grooming.
