R.C.M.P. Make Arrest in Tire Slashings

Mounties say they've charged Jason Larry Kotowich with slashing tires on four police cruisers

The Vegreville R.C.M.P. have made an arrest in relation to a string of police cruiser tire slashings.

Jason Larry Kotowich, 35, has been charged with three counts of mischief under $5000, resisting arrest, and several counts of breaching a probation order.

On January 15, another police cruiser belonging to the Vegreville Detachment had two tires slashed, the latest after three other cruisers had similar damage done on January 10.  While investigating a separate matter, the case dovetailed into the mischief to the police vehicles investigation.

Kotowich was arrested on January 16. He remains in custody, as bail has been denied.

Kotowich will make his first appearance at Vegreville Provincial Court on February 1.
