Sticking to a New Year's Resolution is tough. Here's some tips!
Getting into shape is one of the most common New Year's resolutions, and some people might be starting to struggle already.
Owner and manager of Snap Fitness in Vegreville, Christy Webb, says there is no "magic solution" when it comes to weight loss, and that any goal requires a lifestyle change.
Webb says that planning is crucial. She says avoid relying on will-power, as it tends to wane, and leads you to go for the easier choice.
She suggests physically writing down and scheduling your workout, and planning your exercises ahead a time to get the most out of your time. Use apps or websites to plan your routine.
When it comes to nutrition, she says planning meals a week ahead of time and buying groceries for those meals can also set you up for success.
Webb suggests setting short and long term goals to ensure success. She notes long term goals should be kept in the background though, and focus instead on feeling good about the short term goals.
Above all, Webb says that it's important to be kind to yourself, and forgive small failures along the way to success.
