According to RCMP, Police stopped a vehicle in the Town of Wainwright for a traffic violation on October 4th but upon further investigation determined that the driver was in possession of a controlled substance.
The driver was arrested without incident and a subsequent search of the vehicle yielded methamphetamine and marijuana worth an estimated 4-thousand, 7-hundred and 70 dollars on the street.
51 year old Geoffrey Clouter has been charged with 1 count of Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, 1 count of Possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and 3 counts of failing to comply with conditions of a recognizance.
Bail was denied for Clouter, who will now remain in custody until his first court appearance on November 2nd.
