Andy Lacombe and Austin Crevier, the two men wanted in connections with firearms offenses in Fishing Lake, are now in police custody. Overnight, RCMP members from Elk Point, Bonnyville, and St. Paul detachments along with the Eastern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit, Police Dog Services and Emergency Response Team arrested both men on their outstanding warrants. The investigation is ongoing, and Mounties say there is no further risk to the community at this time.
On February 23, Elk Point RCMP responded to a firearms complaint in Fishing Lake. The caller reported narrowly avoiding a collision with another vehicle and that an occupant of the vehicle then pointed a firearm at the caller before driving away.
On February 28, Elk Point RCMP received a report of gunshots being fired from a vehicle at a home in Fishing Lake. After the shots were fired, the vehicle was reported to have fled at a high rate of speed.
21 year old Austin Don Crevier of Fishing Lake has been charged with seven offenses including Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited, Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Weapon and Careless use of a Firearm.
22 year old Andy George Lacombe of Fishing Lake has been charged with 12 offenses including Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Careless use of a Firearm and Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Weapon.
