Mayor and Councillors Finally Meet Minister Face to Face

For the first time since it was announced, officials with the Town of Vegreville have had a face to face meeting with the Immigration Minister to discuss the pending closure of the Case Processing Centre

After months of back and forth, a face to face meeting between members of Vegreville Town Council and Canada's Federal Immigration Minister, Ahmed Hussen, has finally taken place, to discuss the pending closure of Vegreville's Case Processing Centre.

Mayor Myron Hayduk says while the meeting went well, there was no indication as to whether the decision would be reversed.

Hayduk notes that the meeting in Ottawa took 45 minutes, and the town had a chance to present information and facts the minister had allegedly been unaware or misinformed of.
