The Vegreville & District Chamber of Commerce is saying farewell to it's weekend summer festival ...
After three years of bringing rock and country to the summer stage in Vegreville - and an aggressive crowdfunding campaign in November - the Vegreville and District Chamber of Commerce has elected not to forge ahead with vEGGfest this summer.
Chair Adam Bilyk says even after selling over 800 tickets during the ‘Save vEGGfest Campaign’, the Chamber still feels this is the right direction.
He says vEGGfest lost $60,000 last year alone and notes that after trying to go ahead with the concert on a tighter budget, the prospective talent to bring to Vegreville just wasn’t there.
Bilyk does say however that the decision to cancel vEGGfest wasn't an easy one.
In a press release, the Vegreville and District Chamber of Commerce thanked the businesses and individuals for their support, not only during the ‘Save vEGGfest Campaign’ but over the last three-years.
According to the Chamber, anyone who has purchased a 2018 ticket will be contacted to receive a full refund.
