Chamber Welcomes Candidates

The campaigning continues for the candidates seeking election to Vegreville Town Council ...

Both Mayoral Candidates in Myron Hayduk and Tim MacPhee along with all eight individuals looking for a seat at the council table on October 16th were on hand Wednesday o deliver their platforms to those in attendance at the Vegreville and District Chamber of Commerce’s October General Meeting.

All Candidates were offered 5 minutes to address those on hand and offered a variety of talking points; from municipal government transparency and fiscal responsibility to business attraction and retention along with a need to lobby the provincial government for hospital upgrades.

MacPhee says after talking with residents about their concerns heading into the election, the continuing theme was certainly the looming closure of the Case Processing Center.

Hayduk says he’s heard those same concerns and notes he’s not ready give up just yet.

Voters go to the polls this coming Monday and are reminding that the only voting station in Vegreville will be located at the Social Centre from 10am to 8pm.
