4-H Coverage 2018
The Beaver District 4-H Achievement Day and Beef Sale took place yesterday at the Holden Ag Complex.
The Show and Sale featured members, along with their months of hard work, from three different clubs including the Holden, Tofield Beef and Multi and Viking Beef Clubs.
Showmanship Judge Bobbie Gayle Hosegood talks about the importance of 4-H in communities across the province of Alberta.
Meantime, fellow Judge Casey Bishop of Killam discusses the show, judging in general and the skills 4-H Members learn along the way.
Our Cherie Ziegler caught up with one of the younger 4-H Members taking part in the show, Claire Hollar.
Grand Champion honors went to Intermediate Member from the Viking Beef Club Kori Patterson and her steer which came in a 1415lbs.
Patterson talks about her 4-H experience this season.
Patterson’s Steer sold to Central Agencies for $2.80 per pound.
Reserve Champion honors went to Barret Lang, a Junior Member from the Viking Club, and his 1306lbs steer.
It was sold to Webbs Machinery for $2.75 per pound.
